How to Rob and Pawn

Robbery is the heartbeat of RUNAWAYS. If you cannot convert clutter into cash, vaults stay closed and border attempts stall. This guide covers how to steal efficiently, what to carry, when to pawn, and how to leave before police or other players erase your progress in the supercat games Roblox beta.

Pair this page with Loot Priority and Inventory Tools. For bindings, keep Controls nearby.

Core idea

Every object you grab is a bet: value versus noise versus weight. Punch or use tools (Click/Touch), equip with E, inspect inventory with F, and drop trash with X. Players who never drop junk get caught. Players who pawn too often waste travel time. The sweet spot is short loops: steal a tight bundle, pawn, restock tools, repeat.

Scouting before stealing

Walk a district empty-handed first. Mark:

  • Dense prop clusters worth a quick sweep
  • Sightlines where police responses appear
  • Shortest path to a pawn counter
  • Alleys that accept a C slide break
  • Corners where other players camp the good shelves

Scouting is free. Dying mid-loot is expensive. On a 50-player server, the best shelf is often the second-best shelf with a cleaner exit.

Robbery rhythm (step by step)

  1. Equip the right breaker or go fists (Click/Touch).
  2. Clear a small room or outdoor cluster — not the entire block.
  3. Open F and sort: keep high density, mark junk for drop.
  4. X drop obvious C-tier weight before you leave the scene.
  5. Move toward pawn with a planned slide path (C).
  6. Sell, then immediately decide: another short loop, tool upgrade, or vault prep.

If sirens spike during step 2–4, abort the “one more shelf” urge. Chase skills live in How to Escape Police.

What to steal first

Use role thinking from Loot Priority:

  • S-tier mindset: compact, high cash density, fast to pawn.
  • A-tier mindset: solid value, sell before vault attempts.
  • B-tier mindset: only if the pawn path is short.
  • C-tier mindset: exists to teach the drop key.

Exact prop names can change in early access. Rank density and exit risk, not nostalgia for a prop that looked cool.

Pawn timing rules

Pawn early when:

  • Your bag is half full of middling bulk
  • You need cash for a breaker listed in Best Tools
  • Police heat is rising and mobility matters more than one more trinket
  • You plan a vault and need empty slots for the boom loot

Pawn later when:

  • You are holding mostly S-tier compact valuables
  • The path to pawn is contested and a short detour still nets a clean cluster
  • Teammates are screening a route for a coordinated sell

Never treat the pawn counter as a social lounge. Sell, re-equip (E), attach if needed (Q), leave.

Inventory discipline mid-loop

Before every pawn visit and every district hop:

  1. Open F.
  2. Confirm you still have a breaker slot plan.
  3. Drop junk with X until sprint and slide feel normal.
  4. Close the menu before you round a corner into traffic.

Menu fumbles kill more beginners than aim does. Deep habits: Inventory Tools.

Connecting robbery to vaults and borders

Cash from pawn loops funds vault tools and escape kits. Do not jump to How to Crack Vaults until you can finish two clean sell cycles without panic. Do not jump to How to Reach the Border until an Escape Loadout fits in the bag you actually carry.

Solo versus crew robbery

Solos should favor quieter clusters and earlier pawns. You cannot out-tank a contested shop forever.

Crews can assign a lookout and a carrier, but every member still needs drop discipline. Four full bags of B-tier junk is not a strategy — it is a parade.

Common robbery mistakes

  • Holding three low-value bulky items “just in case”
  • Fighting other players over a shelf while police spawn
  • Forgetting to re-equip the travel tool after selling
  • Reloading (R) in the pawn doorway for no reason
  • Ignoring Getting Started and wandering without a loop plan
  • Waiting on codes instead of practicing short cycles

Continue with:

Practice drill (15 minutes)

  1. Steal only what fits in a “two alley” loop.
  2. Force yourself to drop one item with X every cycle.
  3. Pawn, buy nothing flashy, repeat.
  4. End with a clean slide disengage even if nobody is chasing.

Master short loops and the rest of RUNAWAYS gets cheaper. Vaults are spicy. Borders are glorious. Pawn discipline is what makes both possible.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for RUNAWAYS heists, escapes, and gear.

How often should I pawn?

Default to short loops. If bulk rises or heat rises, sell sooner. If you are carrying compact S-tier only, you can stretch slightly.

Should I fight other players for loot?

Usually no. Contested shelves cost time and heat. Second-best clusters with clean exits print more cash.

What keys matter most while robbing?

Click/Touch to steal, E to equip, F to audit the bag, X to drop junk, and C to break chases on the way to pawn.

When do I stop pawning and try a vault?

When you can fund a proper breaker, keep free slots, and still name an exit — then read How to Crack Vaults.
