How to Crack Vaults

Vaults are the loudest, richest moments in RUNAWAYS. Blowing one open can fund better gear and a serious border push — or wipe a perfect street streak. This guide teaches preparation, entry, looting speed, and exit planning for the Roblox beta by supercat games.

If you cannot already finish short rob and pawn loops, stop here and practice those first.

When a vault is worth it

Attempt a vault only if you already:

If any box is missing, keep pawning mid-tier loot instead. Pride vaults are how beta nights end early.

Preparation checklist

  1. Equip the breaker/explosive/tool meant for doors (E).
  2. Holster or ready a gun with ammo — reload habit (R) matters after the boom.
  3. Attach needed mods with Q before you arrive, not mid-fight.
  4. Clear junk with X so vault valuables fit.
  5. Agree on a rally point if you are in a crew.
  6. Glance at Loot Priority so you grab density, not souvenirs.
  7. Confirm you still have a path toward pawn or border after the spike.

Deep bag habits: Inventory Tools. Combat habits: Guns & Combat.

Breach timing

The breach is a noise bill you agree to pay. Good timing looks like:

  • Heat is currently manageable
  • The approach is not already contested by half the 50-player server
  • Your breaker is equipped before you touch the door
  • Someone (even solo-you) is watching the exit lane

Bad timing looks like:

  • Sirens already stacked from a messy street robbery
  • Inventory full of B-tier bulk
  • Reloading in the doorway
  • Attaching mods while the tool is mid-animation

Click/Touch to work the equipped breaker. Do not swap tools mid-breach unless the plan explicitly needs it.

Inside the vault: loot speed rules

  1. Take compact high-value first.
  2. Skip heavy junk that fails the density test.
  3. Open F once, not five times — decide, then move.
  4. X drop street leftovers immediately if a vault piece is better.
  5. Leave while you still have stamina and a slide path (C).

The vault is not a museum tour. Every extra second is interest on the police loan you just took.

Exit planning (non-negotiable)

Before the boom, answer:

  • Left or right out of the structure?
  • Where is the first hard cover for a possible R reload?
  • Where can I break line of sight with C?
  • Am I going to pawn, hide, or convert straight into a border attempt?

If the answer is “we will figure it out,” you are not ready. Border conversions need Escape Loadouts and the Escape Checklist. Chase details: How to Escape Police.

Solo vaults versus crew vaults

Solos should prefer quieter opportunities and lighter breakers. Your edge is speed and drop discipline, not winning a fair siege.

Crews can assign roles: breaker, loot sweeper, exit watcher. Still force every member to keep free slots. A crew that fills four bags with trash will die together with excellent teamwork and zero cash efficiency.

After the boom: decision tree

  • Clean exit, low heat: pawn high-bulk quickly, keep S-tier, consider border prep.
  • Medium heat: dump C/B junk, kite with slides, delay border ego.
  • High heat: forget the pawn fantasy, survive first, sell later if at all.
  • Kit destroyed: rebuild with street loops; read Getting Started if fundamentals slipped.

Common vault mistakes

  • Bringing a gun museum and no inventory space
  • Reloading (R) in the open breach frame
  • Forgetting Q attachments until bullets are already flying
  • Looting every prop regardless of density
  • Calling a border push while the Escape Checklist is red
  • Trusting unverified scripts to “auto vault” your way out of bad prep

Practice drill

Run a mock prep without committing: equip breaker, clear bag, attach, name exit, then walk away. Do that twice. On the third visit, breach only if those steps felt automatic.

Vaults reward players who treat the boom as a planned transaction. Pay the noise bill only when the receipt — cash density plus a living exit — is worth it.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers for RUNAWAYS heists, escapes, and gear.

Should beginners open vaults on their first session?

Only after clean pawn loops and a practiced exit. Otherwise keep farming streets until prep is boring.

What should I equip before a breach?

Your breaker via E, attachments via Q beforehand, and a plan for R reloads behind cover after the boom.

Why did police show up so fast?

Vaults are loud by design. Leave immediately, drop bulk if needed, and use slide breaks instead of fair fights.

When should vault loot go to the border instead of pawn?

Only with an Escape Loadout, free mobility, and a green Escape Checklist — otherwise sell bulk first.
